GST e-Invoice services unavailable from 31 Oct, 9 am to 1 Nov, 1 pm: what is affected and how to plan

GSTN has announced scheduled maintenance of e-Invoice services from 9:00 am on Saturday 31 October 2026 to 1:00 pm on Sunday 1 November 2026 (IST). e-Invoice data retrieval from IRPs, auto-population in GSTR-1 and JSON downloads will be affected.

GSTN has issued an advisory on 28 October 2026 about scheduled maintenance of e-Invoice services on the GST e-Invoice portal (einvoice.gst.gov.in). The work is for an infrastructure upgrade.

When

From 9:00 am on Saturday, 31 October 2026 to 1:00 pm on Sunday, 1 November 2026 (IST).

What will be affected

  • Retrieval and processing of e-Invoice data from the Invoice Registration Portals (IRPs).
  • Auto-population of e-Invoice data in GSTR-1.
  • Downloading e-Invoice JSON files through the portal and APIs.

GSTN says these services are expected to resume once the maintenance is over. The advisory does not mention e-way bill services.

What to do

  • Finish any e-invoice downloads and reconciliation you need before Saturday morning.
  • If you prepare GSTR-1 for October (due 11 November) from e-invoice data, check after Sunday afternoon that all invoices have flowed into GSTR-1 before you file.
  • Tell your accounts team and software vendor about the window so that no one is surprised by errors over the weekend.
